THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED PLEASE

Guests of Honour: Nicole Mather, Director, Office for Life Sciences and Lead, Accelerated Access Review and Dr Ian Hudson, Chief Executive, MHRA

Policymakers and stakeholders at this seminar will discuss key issues in pharmaceutical pricing, access to medicines and transparency.

With findings from the Accelerated Access Review being published later this year and the EU referendum result causing uncertainty on the future of regulation by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the UK, delegates at this seminar will assess the challenge of increasing access to new and innovative treatments.

Further planned sessions will also consider priorities for the Government’s current Pharmaceutical Pricing Regulation Scheme (PPRS) and the development of flexible, outcomes-based pricing arrangements beyond Value-Based Pricing (VBP); managing conflicts of interest between health professionals and industry – as well as current issues with the NICE appraisal process.

We are delighted to be able to include in this seminar keynote addresses from Nicole Mather, Director, Office for Life Sciences and Lead, Accelerated Access Review; Dr Ian Hudson, Chief Executive, MHRA and Member (UK), Management Board, European Medicines Agency and Dr Nick Crabb, Programme Director, Scientific Affairs, NICE.

Professor Karl Claxton, Professor of Economics, University of York and former Member, NICE Appraisal Committee; Angela Culhane, Chief Executive, Prostate Cancer UK; Professor Gary Ford, Chief Executive Officer, Oxford Academic Health Science Network; Adam Kundzewicz, Senior Global Payer Strategy Manager and Head of Pricing – UK, Boehringer Ingelheim; Dr Myrto Lee, Assistant Director, PwC and Director – EMEA, Strategy&; Dr Waqaar Shah, Clinical Champion for Eye Health, Royal College of General Practitioners and Chair, Macular Degeneration Committee, NICE; Dr Clare Stephens, Board Member and Cancer Lead, NHS Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group and Pat Treacy, Partner, Bristows have also agreed to speak.
