BTS Annual Congress Carer Bursaries

Carer bursaries are awarded to support members with caring responsibilities that would otherwise limit their ability to attend the BTS Annual Congress, to enable them to engage with the toxicology community

Supports BTS members with caring responsibilities that would otherwise limit their ability to attend the BTS Annual Congress

Awarded

Annually on a random allocation basis (maximum of 4 Carer bursaries per annum)

Support provided

Up to £250 contribution towards the cost of care for the applicant’s dependents (children or adults) during the period of the meeting

Criteria
  • BTS member for at least 1 year
  • Open to all BTS members, independent of age or career stage
  • Applicant must have caring responsibilities that would otherwise limit their ability to attend the Annual Congress
  • Caring responsibility must be confirmed by Head of department, Line Manager or another BTS member
  • Maximum of 1 carer bursary per individual per year
Application requirements

Completed application form, including confirmation of caring responsibilities by the applicant’s Head of Department, line manager or another BTS member

Process
  • Application submitted
  • Scientific Subcommittee review for eligibility
  • Eligible applications entered into a draw, with successful applications selected at random
  • Successful applicants notified by Scientific Subcommittee Chair before the early bird registration deadline for the BTS Annual Congress
